Bob’s ambition to go to law school at Emory University was driven not only by his plan to pursue public interest in environmental law, but also to get results. That’s why he joined SELC and today is responsible for litigation, working with SELC’s energy team to accelerate Georgia’s clean energy transition, and lobbying for smart energy policy at the Georgia General Assembly.
His outcomes include successfully defending a community group against baseless claims of defamation after they exercised their constitutional right to protest and speak in opposition to a polluting facility in their neighborhood.
SELC addresses the most pressing environmental issues and gets significant results,” says Bob, who grew up on West Point Lake in LaGrange, GA.
His favorite spot in the SELC footprint is “the vast, wild, blackwater Okefenokee Swamp because there’s no other place quite like it.”
