Bai oversees full life-cycle technology projects across SELC, managing each project from its initial concept to its eventual retirement or replacement. She ensures each project aligns with SELC’s mission and goals developing project plans, managing implementations, and collaborating with key stakeholders to maintain and optimize software products for business value.
“I love nature and wildlife,” Bai said. “Working in SELC allows me to add value and contribute to great causes to help protect our environment, which is a true honor. I want future generations to have an opportunity to experience the wonders of nature without undesirable impacts.”
Bai grew up in Beijing and cherishes memories of its historical sites and surrounding mountains. She moved to Raleigh for college, and “fell in love with the beautiful mountains and beaches, quickly adopting North Carolina as my new home,” she said.
“Working for SELC helps me be aware of and better understand environmental issues and the ways individuals and communities can contribute to protecting our environment,” Bai added. “Being part of this organization feels both exciting and rewarding. Everything SELC stands for and continues to champion in the southern region is impressive.”
Based in Chapel Hill, Bai enjoys heading east to her favorite Outer Banks beach on Emerald Isle. When the leaves turn, she goes west: “The stunning leaves and waterfalls of the Blowing Rock area make it my most frequent destination in autumn.”
