Tom F. Taft, Sr.

Chairman & CEO, Taft Family Ventures
Retired Senior Partner Taft, Taft & Haigler

Sen. Taft is Chairman of Taft Family Ventures and was senior partner of the law firm of Taft, Taft & Haigler for 47 years. He was legal counsel to Lt. Governor Jim Hunt 1973-1975, a State Senator 1985-1990, and a member of the UNC Board of Governors 1992-1996.  Sen. Taft is an entrepreneur and real estate developer in the Southeast. A graduate of Duke and UNC Law School, he attended Hague Academy of International Law, and currently serves on the UNC Law School Alumni Association, and is past president. He endowed Chairs for Environmental Advocacy at the Law School and Science Education at East Carolina University, and served on the Carnegie Commission on Science Education.
