Stephanie Ebbs

Communications Manager

Stephanie supports communications related to SELC’s federal policy work and litigation. She also supports SELC’s communications around data centers in our region to address concerns about transparency, environmental protections, public health, and energy sources and demand.

Before joining SELC, Stephanie invested almost a decade into a career as a producer and reporter at ABC News in Washington, D.C. She helped create the network’s Climate Unit, covering federal climate and energy policy and producing pieces about climate science, extreme weather events, and health impacts of chemicals like PFAS, or forever chemicals.  

“I was looking for my next step to be communications work that was more impact oriented,” Stephanie said. “I wanted to be able to be myself and express how strongly I feel about protecting our environment. I found that in spades at SELC and love collaborating with colleagues who work every day to utilize all our skills to make a positive impact.”  

Originally from Carbondale, Ill., Stephanie discovered a gem in the SELC region: the delightful village of Bluemont, Va.  

“It’s one of my family’s favorite areas to escape from the city,” she said of the nation’s capital. “It has beautiful views, great wineries and breweries, and hikes around and in Shenandoah National Park.” She also recommends stopping at Mom’s Apple Pie Company in Leesburg, “which has the best pie around.”
