Sara Griffith

Office:

Charlottesville, VA – Headquarters

Sara Griffith

Senior Accountant

Sara assists in the preparation of financial statements, departmental budgets, and management reporting for the leadership team and board of directors at SELC. She helps in maintaining and updating financial policies and procedures to ensure best practices are followed and to maintain compliance with industry standards. She collaborates with the accounting manager and accounts payable coordinator to ensure accurate and timely revenue and expense recognition.

“I love being able to combine my financial experience with a nonprofit like SELC that works to protect the south in so many vital ways,” Sara said. “Everyone wins if more people work at making the world a better place.”

Sara is from Poquoson, Va., in the Hampton Roads area. She is most proud of SELC’s work in stopping offshore drilling. “I come from a community of people whose livelihoods depend on the water,” she said. “Protecting the water is protecting a way of life.”

A special place for Sara is the Outer Banks of North Carolina, especially at sunrise: “I love watching that little orange dot burst up over the water and the peaceful calm that comes along with a brand-new day.”
