Meredith Curtis Goode

Director of Program Communications

Meredith helps spread the word about SELC’s legal and advocacy issues. She works with SELC’s communications director to develop and resource an annual work plan and to collaborate with the office, program, and initiative leaders to ensure maximum results from our communications. She also manages SELC’s impressive program communications team. In all these interactions, she looks “for opportunities to lift up powerful intersections in our work.”

“I am passionate about crafting narratives that reach the heart and developing informational materials that are useful to people,” she said. “All of SELC’s work is important and impactful. However, I am rooting big time for the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge to be permanently protected from mining. And I’m inspired by the community churches in Belle Mina, Ala., pushing back against mining threats there, too.”

Meredith’s family has deep ties to Bluffton and Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, and she has studied local ecology up close on boat and kayak outings. “Getting a chance to watch dolphins strand feed was an amazing experience!”
