Marissa Land

Office:

Atlanta, GA

Marissa Land

Associate Attorney

Marissa is based in Atlanta and works with SELC’s Air Program. She focuses on air issues in Georgia, and has drafted comment letters on air permit applications, and worked on air permit appeals and federal litigation.

Marissa joined SELC after working as an engineer in the petrochemical industry.  “I saw firsthand how the industry makes decisions driven by profit at the expense of people and the environment,” she said. “I’m now honored to be at SELC and work with and advocate for communities most impacted by petrochemicals.”

She works on various air permitting and regulatory issues and is proud to support communities in their fight for cleaner air. Marissa has drafted comment letters and spoken at public hearings on behalf of communities facing petrochemical build-out; she’s supported SELC’s response to the weakening of federal air protections; and she’s pushing for cleaner air quality in Georgia.

Marissa grew up in Texas and has a deep appreciation for the natural world. She is constantly struck by the beauty of the Southeast and spends much of her free time outdoors. Marissa is excited to continue exploring this region and has loved her visits to Shenandoah National Park and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
