Jeremy S. Hoffman
Director of Impact Evaluation and Community Science, Groundwork USA
Dr. Hoffman is a pioneering climate scientist and community engagement leader whose work bridges academic research with grassroots environmental justice initiatives. He is the Director of Impact Evaluation and Community Science at Groundwork USA and previously was on faculty at University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University, and was chief scientist at the Science Museum of Virginia. He serves on the boards of Virginia Conservation Network, the Greater Scott’s Addition Association, and the Virginia Office of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. He was named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 2021, and was lead author of the Fifth National Climate Assessment Southeast Chapter. Dr. Hoffman is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, and earned his PhD in Geology with a focus in Paleoclimatology from Oregon State University as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and OMSI Science Communication Fellow.
