Jarrod Fleming

Office:

Atlanta, GA

Jarrod Fleming

Development Officer

Jarrod cultivates and stewards relationships between SELC and regional donors. He identifies and educates people whose interests align with SELC’s mission and educates them about meaningful opportunities to improve the environment.

“I chose to work for SELC because of its unique and refreshing approach to environmental justice and community empowerment,” Jarrod said. “SELC has an in-depth understanding of environmental inequalities being experienced within underserved communities throughout our region, and instead of looking the other way, they are showing up on behalf of residents to fight and to empower them to do the same.”

Jarrod most enjoys that “SELC doesn’t just aim to protect the environmental spaces, we aim to protect the people within the spaces as well.”

A Florida native now in Atlanta, where he and his wife raise their son, Jarrod is in his favorite state. “There are so many different aspects of nature that can be experienced regardless of wherever I go in Georgia,” he said. “Within 3 to 4 hours, I can hike mountains in north Georgia, go tubing and paddle boarding in central and south Georgia, or visit some of the beautiful beaches along the Georgia coast. I haven’t visited another state quite like it.”
