Mr. Hanes is the owner-operator of Senah Farm in Burkes Garden, Virginia. He has managed both conventional and regenerative farmland, pastureland and timberland in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia. He is former chairman and trustee of Old Salem, Inc. in Winston-Salem, and a former trustee of the National Audubon Society.
