Charlottesville, VA – Virginia Office

Holly Helfant

Legal Administrative Assistant

Holly provides administrative, legal, research, and project support to attorneys on the Virginia Energy team, with a primary focus on data centers, gas plants, and utilities. She also assists with court and state commission filings.

“SELC’s mission aligns with my dedication to uplifting underserved and underrepresented communities and promoting healthy, sustainable environments,” Holly said. “I care deeply about public health and believe everyone deserves equitable access to clean resources and fundamental human rights. I’m excited that I’m a part of a mission-focused organization that wants to make meaningful changes.”

Holly is back home in Virginia after primarily working at non-profits, most notably a refugee and humanitarian resettlement program in Australia, where she lived for seven years.

Growing up on a farm in Pungo, Va., Holly learned the value of stewardship, hard work, and caring for the land. “Those experiences shaped my appreciation for Virginia’s natural beauty and the deep sense of connection it inspires,” she said.

Now living in the Appalachian Mountains near Charlottesville, Holly added: “I love how naturally diverse all of Virginia is, with landscapes that stretch from beautiful coastlines to stunning mountain ranges.”
