Ms. Laird also serves as secretary and treasurer of Mountain Conservation Trust. She is past Chair of the Board of the Nature Conservancy, Georgia Chapter. Ms. Laird has been an instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School and Outward Bound and has worked for a variety of nonprofits, including the Tahoe Adaptive Ski School and the Sierra Nevada Alliance. She is a graduate of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership. Ms. Laird grew up in Atlanta and earned a BA in religious studies from Brown University and a master’s in community development, with emphasis in land-use planning, from the University of California-Davis.
