Chayse Pearson

Recruitment Manager

Chayse supports the Operations Team in all SELC hiring, including the administrative, IT, human resources, finance, communications, and development departments. She is responsible for drafting and managing job postings, recruiting efforts, and maintaining the interview process. Chayse also backs up SELC’s legal recruitment manager.  

Before joining SELC, Chayse worked in recruiting for five years in Texas. After Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas hired her as a recruiter, “I realized that I enjoy working for a nonprofit organization and making a deeper impact in the world,” she said.  

At SELC, Chayse is most energized by the work “not only to protect our natural environment and resources, but also the work that we do internally to ensure SELC is an equitable and enjoyable place to work. I appreciate that the organization is constantly updating our practices and honing our skills to be the best version of our organization that we can be.”  

A native of Oregon, Chayse has found Asheville to be a special place. “My wife and I love to take trips out to the area because it reminds us of the town where we first met—Ashland, Oregon—with the mountains in the background and all the beautiful trees.”
