Katie Rogers
Associate Attorney
Katie supports SELC’s electric work before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and conducts related legal research and drafts commentary on rulemakings, complaints, and utility tariff filings. She assists SELC’s energy attorneys in state regulatory proceedings that raise federal regulatory issues.
“I came to SELC because I was impressed not only by the organization’s exceptionally talented and dynamic staff but also its ability to maintain deep and strong ties to the local communities that it represents,” Katie said.
She also participates in regional transmission planning processes and supports SELC’s efforts to facilitate the clean energy transition.
“I’m most excited by the opportunity to assist efforts to enhance the smart buildout of transmission in the southeast because effective transmission planning offers the opportunity to lower costs on monthly bills while also unlocking more renewable energy capacity,” Katie said.
From her home in northern Virginia, Katie can and does spend a lot of time in Shenandoah National Park. “The park offers stunning views, and I love hiking, biking, and camping in the park with family and friends,” she said.
